Dublin Bus

Usually when we head in to Dublin we take 'the 49'! This image was taken at the bus stop closest ro our house, which is only a 10 minute walk from our front door. We usually take the bus to town so we don't have to deal with city traffic and finding a place to park. It is usually a 45 minute trip to Trinity College - close to the centre of town.
Yesterday I jumped on this bus at about 9:15am and was at Trinity to meet up with friend Dean Langley at just after 10. There have been times, however, when this same trip has taken over 90 minutes - thankfully, that is rare. Using public transportation has become common for us and in some ways is nicer than having to drive . . . especially in hectic city traffic. We have learned to enjoy reading or 'people watching' on these ventures to town.
Sarah was the expert in our house and became 'bus proficient' within the first week or two of arriving in Dublin back in 2008. It costs €2.20 each way or €4.40 ($5.93) return (round trip) per person - bus passes are available and cuts the cost to €1.90 each way, as long as we can buy a '10 trip' voucher - but that requires €19.00 ($25.61) all at one time!
