Our Life in Ireland - by Kathy Laughlin
Our first two weeks in Ireland have been very busy with all of our running here and there to set up house keeping. Life has been quite different than our life in the states. We are learning to get around by walking or taking buses. The Irish air can be quite chilly so we are usually bundled up with coats and scarves on our many excursions.
We are enjoying the exercise for the most part as Ballycullen has a lovely view of the Dublin Mountains and spring has sprung so daffodills are blooming everywhere. The trouble is that we often have to walk home from the bus stop heavily laden with groceries with the wind whipping and the rain falling so we come in looking and feeling like drowned rats. No problem however because that is the perfect time for tea and bisquits.
Now I know why the Irish drink more tea per capita than any other nation. Speaking of tea makes me think of the lovely Irish believers we have met in the fellowhip we are attending. They are few in number and have such warm hearts for the Lord and His people. They have welcomed us and we've been encouraged by their sincere faith in Christ. Every meeting has been wonderful or should I say 'brilliant' and is always followed by tea and bisquits. The tea time serves more than one purpose; to keep us warm and cozy and to be a wonderful time of fellowship and conversation. What a blessing they have been and I really shouldn't complain too much about walking in the cold we have had so many offers of a lift to the store or to meetings from our new Irish friends.

Kathy the weather here in Scappoose has been in the mid 30's at night, mid 40's in the daytime and snowing, hailing, raining, and the wind blowing so we are always bundled up too.
