Where Do I Begin This Week . . .

Posted by Tim on 4 April 2008 - 2:51pm

God has been busy this week - don't tell me He doesn't have a sense of humor! I mentioned earlier that we are now walking about 2.4 miles per day - as an average. At least that's what our trusty pedometer tells us.

Kathy and I were talking the other day about 'When is the last time, before moving to Irleand, that we rode a bus?" We didn't know for sure, but we did know it had been years . . . no, decades! So, God moves two 50+ year olds to a new country with bus stops and not garages. He knows we could both stand to increase our exercise regimen and it wasn't working before. . . soooooo now it is and I'm sure He is getting a good chuckle watching us waddle into much better physical shape!

But there's more that happened this week - almost unbelievable! It would be except that God is always doing the unbelievable. Here's the list:

  • We were able to go into the Guarda (Police) Immigration Center, spend 3 hours, mostly in lines, and come out with our legal residence! One of our teammantes had to go to the same place EIGHT times to get the same thing! God taught us a ton by their experience and out process was completed last Saturday morning.
  • We now have an Irish bank account up and running! This looked for awhile like it was going to happen, but in the nick of time (what else is new) it happened and on Monday, we were up and 'banking' with our brand new Irish account.
  • And that's not all, we were also able to send in the paperwork (today) to begin our car insurance! We don't actually own a car yet, but God has one waiting for us that came as a referral from our Church Planting leader Craig! The car is a 2001, has only 44,000 miles on it and came in at HALF what we thought we would have to pay - That should all come together late next week or early the following week.

Wow! Way to go God! We could have done none of this on our own - TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
